Jim Richards was the number one team driver and tasted much success in the Australian touring car championship due to the stunning handling ability of the BMW M3. With Bathurst favoring the higher horse power cars the BMW was at a disadvantage at the mountain. Richards would qualify in 12th but a solid race performance by both drivers gave them a finishing position of fourth (2 Sierras disqualified). Mini Gt have produced this quality model car.
